About three fourth of the one lakh rural households of the state have been provided with the job cards so far under the scheme, which kicked off in the state five years ago.
The Nodal Officer for implementation of MGNREGS and Special Secretary in the State’s Rural Management and Development Department Mr. Sandip Tambe told AIR Gangtok correspondent that about Rs 84 crore were spent under the scheme last year while a sum of RS one hundred eighteen crore is expected to be spent this year under it.
On an average, 85 days employment was provided to the beneficiaries last year with 46 per cent people getting one hundred days job, he said.
No complaints have been received on implementation of the MNNREGS in the State by the Courts so far.
