NEW DELHI: The weather office expects good rainfall across the country this year. It is expected to touch 98% of the long term average (LPA), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday , raising hopes of increased rural demand for goods leading to overall economic growth.

"The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology have also ruled out chances of an El Nino this year," IMD director-general KJ Ramesh said.
