Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu has often been dubbed by his criticis as a Twitter minister because of his prolific use of the microblogging site to resolve minor inconveniences of passengers.

However, on major fronts, his department has made no progress at all. In some cases, the performance of Indian trains have alarmingly worsened under Suresh Prabhu as the minister.

The number of accidents has risen with total losses of lives also experiencing phenomenal jump. More recently, in November last year, the derailment of 14 coaches of Indore-Patna Express at Pukhrayan near Kanpur had claimed over 150 lives.

And to add insult to Prabhu’s injury, a new study has concluded that the trains’ panctuality has taken a serious beating during his time as the minister.

An in-depth study by website http://trainsuvidha.com has made shocking revelations. According to the report, the number of trains running arriving at detsinations more than 15 hours late has experienced a whopping jump of 800 percent in the last four years.

This is between the last three months of the UPA rule and the first three months of 2017, when the country is being governed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
