NEW DELHI: India’s annual rate of inflation based on wholesale prices continued in the negative territory in June, falling further to (-)2.4 per cent from (-)2.36 per cent for the month before, official data showed on Tuesday.
The annual rate of inflation, as per the official wholesale price index, stood at 5.66 per cent in the corresponding month of the previous year, according to data released by the ministry of commerce and industry.
The inflation rate rose, despite marginal increases in the indices for all the three major sub-indices between May and June. The increases were 1.4 per cent for primary articles, 0.6 per cent for fuels and 0.1 per cent for manufactured products.
