New Delhi: The cost of farm labour has increased, says a study, and unless farmers adopt mechanization and new seeds, and the government institutes reforms in land leasing laws and its popular rural job guarantee scheme, productivity could fall, with a consequent increase in food prices.
The study was conducted by industry lobby group Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) and audit and consulting firm KPMG.
