Mint’s Quick Edit The food challenge , in the 19 June edition, is impressive in its analysis, but offers solutions that are indeed worrisome.
It impresses because the edit is brutally frank about the fact that in the times ahead, India’s food supply will emerge as a problem area. In fact, this problem is already at our doorstep. Despite recording record foodgrain production in recent years, the per capita availability of cereals has maintained its downward trend.
