A Delhi court, hearing the Delhi Police Crime Branch plea of performing a lie detector test on two arrested Zee journalists, gave its ruling in favour of the Zee group. Rejecting the police’s appeal, court granted permission for only voice tests in Rs 100 crore alleged extortion case filed by Congress MP Naveen Jindal.

Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao permits Delhi Police Crime Branch to collect voice samples Zee News head Sudhir Chaudhary and Zee Business Editor Ahluwalia.

Earlier, after the plea was filed for conducting a lie detector test, the Zee Chairman, Subhash Chandra had agreed to face the test on Monday. A polygraph test will be conducted on him after his doctors’ permission.

Chaudhary and Ahluwalia, who have been arrested in connection with the case and are presently in police custody, had refused to undergo the lie detector test but agreed to give their voice samples.

Metropolitan Magistrate Gaurav Rao has issued a production warrant to the editors for tomorrow and also sought Chandra"s presence in court.
