Gadkari issues legal notice to IAC activist

-The Hindustan Times

BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday sent a legal notice to India Against Corruption (IAC) activist  Anjali Damania, for alleging he had tried to cover up the irrigation scam in Maharashtra when she approached him. Gadkari has demanded an apology from her.

The IAC, however, defended Daminia with Arvind Kejriwal posing four questions to Gadkari over his alleged proximity to NCP chief and union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar.

In his notice, Gadkari has charged Daminia of having leveled allegations against him to merely create a sensation and defame him. He has demanded a public apology from her legal action would be initiated.

Daminia appeared unmoved with the notice. "I stand by my statements and no legal notice will move me, I will go to the court and fight it out. In fact, I have two other evidences…"

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar termed it a part of the conspiracy hatched by the Congress.
