According to the Constitution, the Parliament and State Legislatures have the authority to make laws, Mr. Bose told journalists after a meeting of the State Committee of the CPI(M).
“Undemocratic”
“Laws cannot be made on maidans (grounds),” Mr. Bose emphasised, adding that while demands can be placed , only Parliament and State legislatures are empowered to make the law. No one can frame the law — that would be undemocratic.”
Mr. Bose said that during the meeting, a decision was taken that the State will participate in the nationwide protests against high level corruption on August 23, organised by the Left parties.
