NRHM audit to take over 4 months: CAG by Surbhi Khyati

The completion of CAG audit of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in the state might take four to five months. Principal Accountant General, Allahabad, Mukesh P Singh, who is heading the audit in the state, has called a meeting of all the top medical officials of the state, including Director Generals, Additional Directors and Chief Medical Officers regarding the auditing on Thursday.

“We will take around four to five months to complete the auditing process and might submit our report by the end of the year or beginning of next year,” Singh told The Indian Express over phone. He said his team has started preparing for the audit from Monday.

“The CAG team summoned the records pertaining to NRHM and we sent the records to Allahabad for the team’s perusal on Monday,” said Lokesh Kumar, General Manager, Administration, NRHM.

CMOs of 24 districts including Lucknow, Moradabad, Bareilly, Badayun, Bulandshahar, Etah, Shahjahanpur, Rae Bareli, Unnao, Bahraich, Azamgarh, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Ballia, Mirzapur, Kushinagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Agra, Allahabad, Kanpur Dehat (Ramabainagar), Kanpur and Varanasi will be participating in the meeting. Additional Directors of Lucknow, Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly and Gorakhpur, which are the zones for the auditing exercise have also been called in the meeting.

The CAG had sought information on 96 points under NRHM schemes.
