Speaking to reporters, Joykumar said that a special meeting for RTI activists in the state will be held on July 17 at the office premises of the Young Voluntary Organisation (YVO), Wangkhei Durga Puja Lampak at 10 am.
The meeting will discuss the matter and form a united body.
He said that many sources are giving threats to RTI activists instead of helping and taking them as supporters of the law who helped in the smooth functioning of the government machinery towards development.
Appealing to all RTI activists to attend the meeting, Joykumar said that the body is to be formed to face the threats received by activists from divulgent sides.
There was an instance when locals ostracized a RTI activist.
On the other hand, police does not take up immediate necessary action in such cases.
Even when Vigilance and CAG have produced corrupt natures and works in many government departments in the state, the government has not conducted any probe or taken up any precautionary measures to curb corruption.
He alleged that the Governor of Manipur is also doing nothing to solve the matter.
He said, the Governor should make efforts to make Manipur a corruption free and peaceful state.
