This came to light during scrutiny of annual reports of admissions submitted by schools by the office of district education officer here. Surprised over the act, the DEO has put records of all schools under scanner.
DEO Jagjit Kaur has also served notices on both the schools to clarify their position on this error.
“I was surprised to see their records showing zero admission. At a time when every parent want their children to have the best education, such information is really an unexpected one. We have asked them to furnish certain records related to school admissions,” said Jagjit Kaur.
Expressing inability to reveal the identity of the schools, Kaur, however, indicated strict action in case allegations of concealing information were found correct. As per RTE guidelines, a school has to reserve 25% seats for poor and those hailing from families identified under BPL category.
