Four GP secretaries suspended in Belgaum dist

Belgaum ZP CEO Govinda Raju has issued orders, suspending four gram panchayat secretaries for "allegedly" misusing government grants and for failing to discharge their duties.

The suspended officials are A A Limbikai and S G Patil, secretaries of Krishna Kittur and Tangadi GPs (Athani taluk), respectively, and N J Dhamanekar and H P Limboji, secretaries of Mallapur (PG) and Koujalagi GPs (Gokak taluk), respectively.

Limbikai was suspended for "allegedly" not implementing National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) effectively in the village, and for not properly informing the villagers about the scheme. There are also malpractice charges against him in the implementation of the scheme.

Patil was suspended for "allegedly" not maintaining records of withdrawing funds from the accounts of NREGS and under 12th Finance Commission. There are also complaints against him for misusing funds under various housing schemes.

Dhamanekar was suspended following complaints by the villagers of Pamaladinni (coming under Mallapur GP) that he had failed to properly implement drinking water schemes in the village.

Limboji is facing the music for "allegedly" neglecting the orders of Gokak TP CEO in the last one year. The CEO had ordered Limboji to cancel some names from land records, which were recorded violating the norms.
