Wadhwa Committee’s tenure extended

The Supreme Court on Tuesday extended by six months the tenure of the Justice Wadhwa Committee formed to probe the issues in the Public Distribution System.

A Bench comprising justices Dalveer Bhandari and Deepak Verma extended the tenure of the committee headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice D. P. Wadhwa. The court’s direction came after senior advocate Colin Gonsalves and Additional Solicitor-General Mohan Parasaran informed the court that the panel’s term had ended and requested extension. — PTI
