Talking to media on Monday, principal secretary (revenue and relief) KK Sinha said the state government had issued directives to all districts to prepare a list of water bodies on the basis of revenue records. After completion of that exercise, he said, the process to remove encroachment from the land of water bodies would be intensified. He said all water bodies would be renovated and beautified under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ( MGNREGA).
Sinha said a two-month-long special campaign is going to be launched in the state from the first week of April. The campaign would be aimed at disposing of all works directly concerned to people on priority. All the proceedings of Tehsil Diwas would be supervised by the district magistrates, he said and added all registers maintained on the occasion of Tehsil Diwas would be monitored by the district magistrate personally. He said all complaints received on the occasion of Tehsil Diwas would be disposed in two months by maintaining proper transparency.
He said the issues of capturing land, including patta land, by musclemen would also be solved on priority during the campaign. He said directives had also been issued to dispose of all undisputed cases of land revenue department and cent per cent verification of land revenue records. He said officials had been asked to ensure measuring of land through patta allotment among beneficiaries to avoid the problem of capturing of their land by local musclemen. Matter of transfer of possession on land in the cases of consolidation would also be taken care of during the campaign.
