H Y Mahesh, a`khata warrior’ who has been fighting corruption in BBMP for past three years through right to information ( RTI) Act and Lokayukta died on way to the Lokayukta office here on Monday.
He was travelling on a scooter and was on his way to file a complaint at the Lokayukta office against officials in BBMP and revenue department when he was hit by a BMTC bus from behind. He succumbed to injuries before he arrived at the Victoria Hospital.
His mission after retirement was to educate citizens of their rights and duties. He is survived by wife and two daughters. Mahesh was also an active member of Sachidananda Nagara Nyayapara Andolana.
